Alison's 10 years old!

Happy birthday to my wonderful and beautiful daughter, Alison who is turning ten years old today.

I hiked along the Ameri Loop Trail at Lake Houston Park. This trail has quickly become my favorite ten mile hike, although I don’t much like the deep, loose sand near the creeks.

My initial plan was to hike the loop twice, but I lost interest. The temperature is rising again and I was walking under the heat of 90 degrees. I tried using honey stingers as my nutrition. The taste and texture is great, but they upset my stomach. I was nauseated for thirty minutes after consuming the honey stingers. Other than than eating honey stingers I kept everything simple, just water and S-caps.

Late last night I purchased a new Osprey fast pack from REI. The pack is AWESOME, but it moves quite a bit while running. It’s a great day-hike pack, so I'll probably keep it.
