My Haiku entry for the day:
Fun while it lasted
Hate these little ups and downs
Sixty-one more days
I stayed strong last night and was rewarded handsomely on the scale this morning. With the exception of the knee issues I feel good!
I woke up with a great deal of knee pressure. I located a knee brace that I purchased last year. The gentle compression instantly gave my knee added stability and I have not had any issues since.
I tried hard, yet I could not reach the magic “burn” number today. With 4.5 hours of cardio logged for the day, I’m calling it quits. The Bodybugg software says I need to burn nearly 300 more calories, but that is not going to happen.
I walked the bayou trail this morning and again late this evening.
4.38 miles
1:17:17
17:39 pace
I had to meet and talk to an attorney mid-day. Should I trust an attorney that looks like a dressed-up bum? Let me paint a picture;
He was 10-minutes late to the appointment
His office is a single 20x20 room in an outdated office building
Appears that he hasn’t shaved in a couple days
Pale yellow, wrinkled, short-sleeved shirt with pen marks all over the front
Blue tie (wouldn’t surprise me if it was a clip-on)
Grey slacks, no belt
I digress…
After the appointment I went kayaking on the San Jacinto River. The ride was serene and put me in a peaceful state of mind. Surprisingly, I was a lot faster than usual. Learned that kayaking doesn’t burn many calories, which has been part of the problem trying to meet today’s calorie deficit goal.
Kayak:
5.16 miles
1:40:16
19:35 pace
In an attempt to hit my burn I went for a HARD bike ride on the five mile loop. Interesting side note, I’ve seen whitetail deer on ever outing (both walks, near the river, and on my bike ride).
Trail Bike:
5.91 miles
31:04
11.41 mph
