I went to bed last night with two sore knees and woke up with swelling. Swelling is not unusual for my right knee, but this morning I had a gumball size protrusion over my left patella, my GOOD knee. The entire anterior aspect of the knee is still sore as well. This sucks. I just want my body to function like every other 37 year old body. Instead, my body behaves like that of a 70 year old.
The day slipped away from the kids and I. Grocery shopping, cleaning, kayaking, and a small walk was all I could squeeze out of the day.
The kayak ride was a lot of fun, yet started with a bang…. literally. Preston was riding on the kayak with me and I was towing Alison in the one-person air raft. Before we made it a 100 yards a branch sticking out of the water popped her raft. Thankfully, we were still in knee deep water, so the panic was kept to a reasonable level. Somehow I managed to get all three of us on my kayak and continued our ride. The highlight of the trip was our ability to ride within ten feet of a couple young fawns near the shoreline.

One mile walk around the bayou trail was the extent of my cardio. Nice evening breeze.
