Stop spilling water

Starting this post was an amazing quote;
I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone. ~Bill Cosby

The last 10-hours have been rough. Before going to bed last night I knocked my Nalgene water bottle over and a fair bit of water went onto my laptop. It’s acting a little odd and making weird noises, but it is still up and running. Then this morning while cooking breakfast I was moving a pot of boiling water from the stove to the sink. The pot proved too hot to hold, which resulted in me spashing some of the hot water on my left arm. Remarkably there wasn’t any serious injury other than redness and pain to my left forearm.

Weight lose seems to be back on track. After a few nights of overeating earlier in the week I was worried I would not be able to follow my “Gain No Weight” resolution. At last, I’m back to last week’s weight and I still have three days to maintain or lose weight.

I’ve listened to a couple really good podcast this week. On ACTIVE VEGETARIAN, they devoted an entire podcast to; Plant based eating on a budget. I enjoyed their view of the true value of food and how many people are overweight, yet undernourished.

Yesterday ENDURANCE PLANET interviewed Ironman Kona winner Chris MacCormack. MacCormach had an interesting discussion about sport journalist and how they underestimated him. The reporters did not think MacCormack was a contender for the win. They even labeled him as, “Having a bad year”. In fact, he said he was having a great year and felt he was unbeatable at Kona. They only looked at what place he finished at various races other than looking at his training and WHO he was racing against. Again, very interesting discussion.

I had a peaceful walk around the bayou this afternoon. Saw an interesting bird near the bayou, which turned out to be a banded kingfisher. Odd looking bird!

Walk:
2.20 miles
36:02
16:21 pace

Food:
Unusually full today, even though my caloric intake is a few hundred calories lower planned.
Smoothie flavor, Orange dreamsicle;
3 local Texas Oranges (peeled and seeded)
1 cup vanilla almond milk
1-cup cold filtered water
1-heaping scoop vanilla chai Vega
2-tbsp Splenda

Good taste, but three oranges resulted in a LOT of pulp. Also, the above recipe yielded more than 32oz of smoothie.

Strength Training: Mid-body

Push-ups: 40

Set up my bike trainer and cycled while watching television. I planned on cycling for a couple hours, but it didn't happen. My legs are tired and ready for tomorrows “off day”.

Road Bike (on trainer):
10.64 miles
50:00
12.76 mph
