Trail Bike

I begged Andrea to do riding with me, but she wouldn't budge. I ended up riding my trail bike along my five mile loop. Later this evening I rode a couple more miles just for fun.

Push-ups

I did five push-ups during every commercial break while watching "The Biggest Loser". I did a few extra on the last set...

Still Pushing Forward

At work.

I felt good most of the day, with the exception of the cough. Tried running tonight. Now my throat is severely irritated, which means even more coughing.

Tired

I'm so f'ing tired of this never-ending cough. Not only does it hurt, but it gives me a horrific headache and my abdomen/ribs can't take anymore.

I skipped Thursdays and Saturdays run for several reasons. After working all day Wednesday, I worked Thursday night on a fire watch, which resulted in nearly 26 hours without any sleep. Yes, I know that is the LAST thing I should be doing when I'm sick, but it is easy money. Friday we FINALLY closed on our home refinance. The refinance was a long tedious process, but well worth all my effort.

After a solid night of sleep at work last night I decided to go for run today. Andrea went to her parents, so Shaina joined me for a run/walk at Lake Houston Park. We covered more than six miles on our way to the Primitive Camp sites. I was having a hard time breathing during the run portion, but otherwise I had an excellent run. I haven't been to LHP in several months and there has been some really nice changes to the park. As I've said numerous times before, LHP is one of Houston's best unknown parks!

Rainy Run

At work

Tried running through the funk.
Started raining the second I walked outside the station.
Coughed-up a lung the entire time.
Started running while listening to a podcast of the Dave Ramsey show, but quickly had to upgrade the motivation to a podcast of Endurance Plant.
Some how I finished.
It sucked.

Attempt #1

I'm not sure if I am ready to run yet.

I completed tonights workout, but thought I was going to die. Primary issue remains the constant coughing. Endless coughing has left both my ribs and abdomen sore.

Fall like temperatures are back, which made the run easier.

Walk:

Preston has been ill this week, which appeared to be allergies. Erin took Preston to the doctor yesterday and he was diagnosed with pneumonia. I've been worried sick about him, so I made the long drive to Trinity to see him this morning. He was playing and bouncing off the walls like his usual self, which set my mind free. While in the area I had lunch with Alison at her school.

It was a good day.

Doctors Visit

The additional two days of rest did not seem to help matters, so I decided to go to the doctor this morning. My coughing has become so severe that I have been coughing up small amounts of blood in the morning.

The doctor said I have an ear infection, sinus infection, and severe allergies.

My blood pressure was high and my heart rate was low, which warranted extensive blood/urine analysis.

Being stuck in the house all week left me with a bad case of cabin fever. This evening I had to get outside for an easy bike ride.
