I don't know if I have the flu, allergies, or an infection. Whatever it is, I can't seem to get rid of it. I skipped two runs, giving my body time to heal. I even missed a Halloween party at Toms, which we were excited about.
Shaina and Wyatt drug me out of the house for a short bike ride. I felt good exercising, except the headache and constant coughing.

Fall Owl
I offered to run with Shaina and Andrea. Neither accepted the offer, so I ran solo.
It's incredibly warm. Only a few days till November, yet the Houston area set another record high temperature today of 94 degrees.
I listened to the Dave Ramsey show on my iPhone while exercising.
A family a raccoons passed in front of me, then I watched a large owl land on a branch a mere ten feet above the ground. I was amazed how large the owl was.
Run:
0.84 mile

11:55 pace

Pushing Forward
Still feeling sick. Primary issue is headache and cough.
Watching Biggest Loser motivated me enough to go run. Andrea joined me for the late night workout. It is unseasonable hot and humid. Weather channel shows we set a new record high of 92 degrees today.
The run/walk was tough, but it is done. I need to stretch more, because my shins are killing me.

Sick
I'm officially sick. I have a small grade fever, productive cough, headache, and general muscle soreness from head to toe.
I'm skipping todays workout. No excuses, it is merely the right thing to do.

Best Running Partner EVER
Alison and I ran the loop around my grandfathers house this morning before departing back home. My grandfather lives on a mountain, so the terrain was tough for me.
The GPS signal was chaotic. Not sure if it was due to the cloudy skies, trees, or being on the side of a mountain.

Urban Lifestyle
After a great day with my family in Hot Springs Arkansas, I decided to postpone my run to after the kids were in bed. Around 9:30pm I decided to run. As I walked outside I quickly realized I couldn't see my hand in front of my face, which is not good considering it is a ~150 foot drop to Lake Katherine from the front of my grandfathers house.
The thought of the streets not being lit by streetlights never crossed my mind. After feeling a little silly and way too "City-fied", I decided to run in the morning.

Off Day
Today I'm driving 400 miles with my kids and my parents to see my grandfather in Hot Spring, Arkansas. It's been a long week. I'm ready for the off day from exercise and a vacation to visit with family.

1.5 hour cardio
Wyatt and I rode our road bikes this morning. We started at Wyatt's house and we rode to Atascocita. I wasn't fond of the route. I was constantly worried that I would damage my wheels by going up and down the sidewalks from the driveways at the street level.
My back and hands were bothering me, so we cut five miles off our original plan.
Later this evening, Shaina and Wyatt joined me for a run on the greenbelts. Wyatt continues to impress.

Run Wyatt, Run!
Wyatt showed up for work on a day he was scheduled to be off. I convinced him to go ride and he didn't resist...
We rode three loops inside Eisenhower Park. I've been trying to show Wyatt the benefits of getting out of the saddle when climbing a hill. He did exceptionally well and I think he had a light bulb moment.

I meet Wyatt and Shaina at their house for a small run. To my surprise, Wyatt joined us. I've known Wyatt for more than 10 years and I haven't seen him run, ever. He did well even though he was wearing something that resembled a slip-on house shoe.

Broke 1-mile
Shaina and I ran our usual loop through Kingwood Lakes Village before work. The new 8x2run/1walk enabled us to break the 1-mile in run distance. We are on our way!
Slow walk pace due to throbbing shins.
Josh motivated me to join him in the gym at work. We lifted weights, concentrating on chest, back, and shoulders.

Group ride
Andrea and I biked to Wyatt's house. From there Shaina and Wyatt joined us for a leisure ride on the greenbelts. The late evening start abandoned us in some extremely dark greenbelts.
This was a fun social ride. I wish Andrea liked riding more.
